I love playing with Elle, she sees everything so differently than I do. I remember when I fit so perfectly under a table and chairs. It was a castle to me. I remember playing in our yard growing up thinking everything was gigantic. Playing with Elle reminds me of that time when I was small too. Lately our world is very tiny. Every Evening Elle and I go for a walk. We pick up every tiny thing on the ground. We look at everything small. Yes we even suck on everything small. I decided to pull out the Macro lens today and record what small things we see every day.
Macro lenses are lenses that focus up close to an object. They are great for taking pictures of bugs, flowers, and yes even Cheerios. This lens is actually a less expensive lens. The only non Nikon lens I have. It is an awesome lens. It can take a little patience and it helps to hold your breath, because the spot you want to focus on is so small and breathing can offset where you are aiming. I have problems with getting Error signals when I attach this lens. You just have to play with the manual focus to get it to line up with the camera mechanism correctly. Nikon lenses don't do this.
You can tell small stories with a normal lens too, this one just magnifies the object. I just love documenting life in different ways. Especially if it helps me see the world from someone else's point of view.
Cheerios are big at our house right now, she has learned to lick her finger and stick the O to it.

Constantly washing these

Elle likes these shoes and I do too...but I don't suck them

Two flowers Elle hasn't picked

Too many clovers to pick them all

We have had awesome weather. Cool and misty in August....I love it!

Elle picks these leaves and hands them all to me.

Photo Friday started because I get a lot of questions from people who want to take better pictures of their families. Let's face it, we can't all be the kennedys with a professional photographer documenting our daily lives. This segment is to dumb down what I have learned from proffesional photographers, and give easy tutorials for making your photos great!
